Our History

Founded in 1996 by Jim Moores, Social Care Network Solutions LLC (SCN) is a social enterprise and exists to serve the care community by delivering an online, secure system - CHARMS™ - to help care providers to keep their records safe. Some 600+ sites now use CHARMS across the USA, UK and the Republic of Ireland.

Jim worked in the UK Civil Service and then in local government working closely with the adoption, fostering and residential teams to help them use fledgling computer systems. It became clear that users just wanted to record case notes quickly and easily - and not fight with big, complicated systems. Jim set up the company, originally called Computing Help Ltd, (CHL) which changed to Social Care Network (SCN) in 2012.

In 2019 we identified that there was the same need in the United States for an affordable, usable system for recording information. Social Care Network LLC was created and charms.us is now live across the country.
